1966-67 UH-1B "928"    The "Falcons" gunship platoon began as the armed support element of Co. A, 82nd Aviation Battalion. The Falcon ships and crews were transferred to the 335th Aviation Co. when it was activated in September 1966. Like Co. A's slicks, the gunships were painted in a two-color camouflage of flat black over OD. The 335th door logo was added to the pilot's doors when they became part of that unit. The gunship platoon retained this color scheme until the end of the fighting around Dak To in November 1967.

No roof stripes were used by early 335th aircraft. The "US Army" legend and the "Danger" arrows did not appear on the tail booms when the ships were camouflaged. The 5-digit tail number was painted in black.
